WELCOME

Highlights of Plastic Surgery 2020 will be our 6th consecutive event.  We have carefully prepared a scientific program with 20 world-renowned plastic surgery educators that will present their most advanced and innovative techniques for facial rejuvenation as well as breast and body sculpting. Like in previous years the program is designed to include ample faculty-attendee interaction.

FACULTY For March 2020 we have 20 world famous and recognized professors in Plastic Surgery. Already confirmed and ready to go are Drs. Giovanni Botti and Mario Pelle Ceravolo from Italy; Simeon Wall, Dennis Hammond and  Roger Khoury from the USA; Tim Papadopoulos from Australia; Ricardo Cavalcanti Ribeiro, Paulo Godoy, Guilherme Miranda de Freitas and Ruth Graf from Brazil; Francisco Perez, Hector Duran, Hector Gonzalez Miramontes and Carlos Oxaca from Mexico; William Peña, Humberto Uribe, Javier Soto and Giovanni Mera from Colombia.

 

THE SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM The complete scientific program offers 24 hours of (CME) continued medical education credits and is endorsed and supervised by the School of Medicine of the Universidad Latina de Panama. The scientific program is also endorsed by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS). There is also a fun social program for all registered attendees and their registered companions.

 

The scientific program features three days; one dedicated to Facial surgery; one to Breast surgery and one Body Contouring. The conferences will take place in the brand-new Teatro Pacific within the Pacific Hospital Complex. The program starts every morning with live surgery. There will be direct communications to and from the Operating Room with a panel of moderators to encourage discussions and answer all questions during the live surgeries. Although most of the faculty is bilingual there will be simultaneous translation English-Spanish-English. In the afternoons there will be blocks of 10 to 15 minutes talks with video clips included followed by in depth discussions. Our tradition has been to encourage and allow enough discussion, so all questions are answered

 

There will be a Pre congress Day which will starts at 6:30 AM with a Golf Tournament at the beautiful and oldest golf course in Panama “Club de Golf de Panama”.  In the afternoon starting at 1 PM we will have several complementary workshops featuring the latest technology, social media and digital marketing. On Friday the 27 and Saturday the 28th before the surgeries start there will be small group sessions of breakfast with the experts. They sessions are free, but you need to sign up at the registration desk as space is limited.  The Live surgeries will take place every day. To maximize our learning experience and time Patient safety and use time more effectively patient safety lectures and discussions will occur parallel to the surgeries and be given by the energetic anesthesiologist Jorge Bayter from Colombia.  On Thursday morning there will be two facial rejuvenation procedures performed by Drs Botti and Pelle Ceravolo both from Italy. On Friday morning of the the breast surgery day, Drs Dennis Hammond, Roger Khoury from the USA, Ruth Graf from Brazil and Hector Duran from Mexico will demonstrate their techniques. On Saturday, Drs Giovanni Mera from Colombia, Paulo Godoy and Guilherme Miranda from Brazil will do three body contouring procedures with live transmission and two communication to and from the Operating Room-Pacific Theatre.

 

SYMPOSIUM REGISTRATION is limited to Plastic Surgeons that are certified and or registered in their country of origin plastic surgery society. ISAPS members qualify for a discounted fee. Plastic Residents and Fellows from accredited programs may enroll with a status verification letter from the Chairman of their department. Plastic surgery nurses may register if accompanied by their also registered plastic surgeon. Everyone attending the scientific or social program must be registered.

Advanced registration for the scientific sessions as well as the hotel reservations via the website are strongly suggested to take advantage of the early registration discounted fees and so all your information will be automatically registered. You can also register onsite the day of the event. You can pay using cash, credit cards or wire bank transfers. No foreign checks can be accepted.

HOTEL AND CONFERENCE ACCOMMODATIONS All the events will take place at the brand-new Pacific Center Hospital Complex (opens September 2019). The live surgeries will take place at The Panama Clinic and the conference will be held at the Teatro Pacific. The headquarter hotel will be at the Residence Inn by Marriott All these places are under one roof, The Pacific Center is located in the Paitilla neighborhood, in the center of the city. Nearby there are also three other Marriott hotels (J.W., AC and Courtyard) which will have shuttle service to and from the Pacific center complex.  The Pacific Center in addition houses over nine restaurants, gym a pharmacy as well as a shopping center including a supermarket. All Residence Inn rooms include a kitchenette.

 

SOCIAL PROGRAM

Wednesday March 25th evening: Welcome Cocktail at Sky Lobby of the Pacific Center right after finishing the last workshop. 

Thursday March 26th evening:  Welcome party at the Sand Bar at J. W. Marriott terraces. The event is informal so wear shorts and sandals as they have a sand floor. The JW Marriott in only three blocks walking distance from the Residence Inn Marriott.

Friday March 27th evening: Big informal party at “El Viejo Santana Nightclub Club” in Casco Viejo. Free transportation will be available for all registered guest to and from the events.

 

THE COMMERCIAL EXHIBIT HALL will be open March 26-27-28 from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM. Lunch as well as the morning and afternoon Coffee breaks will be served in the exhibit halls.
